Wärtsilä Midsize waterjets LJX 510 to LJX 810 for up to 4,500 kW, delivered pre-assembled on a skid with inlet duct for weld-in or bolt-in installation, in steering/reversing or booster execution.
Description
Wärtsilä Midsize waterjets provide an easy-to-install waterjet propulsion solution for power up to 4,500 kW. The inlet duct is included and the unit is delivered pre-assembled on a skid for direct weld-in or bolt-in connection to the hull, with the shaft line aligned and all components, auxiliary systems, piping and electrical wiring mounted on the skid.

- Compact axial pump with good efficiency, cavitation and noise characteristics
- Aluminium used for several components to save weight; stator bowl and impeller in high-grade stainless steel
- Water-lubricated bearing in the stator bowl
- Water-lubricated face-type stern tube seal with optional inflatable emergency seal
- Inboard-mounted thrust bearing block and inboard hydraulics
- Machinery controls integrated in the unit
Sizing example
A ship with four 1,250 kW engines and a design speed of 33 knots requires four size 510 waterjets.
Applications
Fast ferries, littoral combat ships, fast patrol boats, rescue vessels, fast yachts, fast supply vessels and workboats, landing craft and other shallow-draft or high-speed vessels (above 25–30 knots).
