Master Bond Consumable
Sodium Silicate Systems
Water-based, single component sodium silicate adhesives and coatings with exceptional temperature resistance; MB600 is thermally stable up to +1,500°F.
Description
These inorganic aqueous sodium silicate ('water glass') adhesives and coatings form rigid bonds to glass, metals, ceramics, composites and most plastics. They are odorless and non-flammable, cure at room temperature or with heat, and are dimensionally stable and moisture resistant. Electrically insulative and conductive grades are available.
Featured grades
- MB600 – non-toxic, thermally stable up to +1,500°F
- MB600S – silver filled; acts as a moisture barrier, provides shielding effectiveness and resists temperatures up to 700°F
Applications
High temperature bonding and coating, and conductive or shielding layers on heat-exposed components.
