Goltens mobilizes engine teams specialized in large-bore engine repairs from offices in 14 countries. As an independent service provider it works on all major makes of larger-bore 2-stroke and 4-stroke propulsion, auxiliary and stationary power diesel, gas and dual-fuel engines.

- Routine overhauls, troubleshooting and diagnosis of engine casualties
- New installations and retrofits of engines
- One-off repairs or flexible planned maintenance agreements, from full turnkey support (Goltens supplies all spares and performs all maintenance) to defined-scope work with customer-supplied parts
- Riding crews that carry out repairs alongside or on voyage
- 'Swing set' programs: an extra set of major components (cylinder heads, fuel pumps, injectors, liners, pistons, often turbochargers, governors and air coolers) is overhauled in the workshop and rotated onto the engine
- Troubleshooting: casualty inspections, engine performance analysis, vibration and noise analysis, engine inspection programs
