Wärtsilä Engine Auxiliary Systems

Wärtsilä engine auxiliary systems are delivered together with Wärtsilä main propulsion engines and diesel generating sets to ensure full compatibility. They can be tailored to optimise performance for a specific trade and specified to minimise building and operating costs for a given combination of main and auxiliary engines. Tailor-made modular auxiliary units are available on request.

Systems covered (marine installations)

Fuel, lubricating oil, combustion air and exhaust gas, charge air, cooling water, compressed air, power transmission, starting air and control air systems.

Depending on engine type and application, the lube oil pump, HT/LT cooling water pumps, fuel pump, oil filters and coolers, pre-lubricating pump and thermostatic valves can be engine-mounted. Stand-by pumps, seawater pumps, central coolers, starting air vessels, automatic lube oil filters, exhaust gas silencers and boilers are typically delivered for separate mounting.

Auxiliary equipment upgrades (4-stroke engines)

• Oil mist separator removing more than 99% of oil mist from crankcase ventilation gas
• Charge air cooler cleaning equipment, including the Wärtsilä Delta cleaner for cleaning without removing the cooler
• Water treatment unit (WWCU) adjusting pH, alkalinity and hardness and controlling scaling, bacteria and sludge
• Wärtsilä Smart fuel hose for early leak detection
• Wärtsilä Turbo standby cleaner for turbochargers
