Phillystran HMPE

4-strand HMPE mooring rope with sequential break technology to reduce recoil, co-engineered with the US Navy and built to MIL-SPEC A-A-59811A.

Description

Phillystran HMPE ropes are high modulus polyethylene fiber ropes co-engineered with the US Navy. They feature sequential break technology that reduces recoil if the rope is overloaded to the point of break (see Cordage Institute standard CI 1502), a safety feature mandated on many US Navy ships. Four HMPE strands are laid around an independent synthetic core, each strand individually jacketed with alternating aramid and polyester yarns for abrasion resistance.
