D-Series (Ceramic DOC)

Nett D-Series ceramic diesel oxidation catalysts with zeolite hydrocarbon traps for low-temperature HC and odour control; universal-fit or direct-fit catalytic muffler designs for off-road, power generation, marine and other diesel applications.

Description

The Nett D-Series (Ceramic) Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) is a maintenance-free emission control converter for diesel engines, using ceramic substrates with zeolite-based hydrocarbon traps to extend catalyst performance into the low-temperature range. Applications include off-road, on-road, power generation, marine, gantry crane and locomotive engines.

Technology

  • Round cordierite substrates with square cell geometry
  • Tourniquet packaging technology in a steel container for rugged, durable converters
  • Typically sized larger than M-Series DOCs to provide sufficient HC trap volume, giving comparable pressure losses
  • Housings in aluminised and stainless steels

Performance

  • 40-50% HC conversion and diesel odour control at very low exhaust temperatures (HC trap capacity for a maximum of 15-30 minutes of continuous low-temperature operation)
  • Minimum about 180°C (360°F) required for conversion; CO conversion exceeds 90% above 250-300°C (480-570°F)
  • Particulate matter reductions of 30-50%
  • Prolonged exposure above 650°C (1200°F) may cause thermal degradation; avoid phosphorus, zinc, heavy metals, lead, arsenic, vanadium and silicone

Configurations

  • Universal-fit converters, welded (compact) or clamped (removable centre-body for inspection and cleaning)
  • Direct-fit catalytic mufflers replacing the OEM muffler (database of over 10000 designs), matching or exceeding original sound attenuation and back pressure
  • Options: add-on mufflers, custom heat-insulative blankets, OEM developments
