Charge air cooling
Alfa Laval charge air coolers for marine and industrial engines, cooling intake air after the turbocharger, with aluminium or copper fins and integrated housings tailored to the engine.
Description
Alfa Laval charge air coolers cool engine intake air after it passes through the turbocharger, for marine and industrial applications as well as heavy-duty on- and off-highway engines. Tighter emission standards and higher power density engines require lower intake manifold temperatures at higher boost pressures, placing greater demands on charge air cooler performance, robustness and compactness.
Key features
- Aluminium or copper fins with varying fin densities to match engine performance needs
- Rectangular or round fin configurations
- Tubes fixed with expanded tube technology or rubber end sheet technology
- Integrated housings engineered to fit the cooler compactly onto the engine
