Aalborg Waste Heat Recovery Economizers
Alfa Laval Aalborg marine waste heat recovery economizers produce steam from main and auxiliary engine exhaust, reducing fired boiler use, fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by up to 14%.
Description
Alfa Laval Aalborg waste heat recovery systems use economizers to produce steam from the exhaust gas of main and/or auxiliary engines, reducing the use of fired marine boilers. Alfa Laval cites documented fuel savings and CO2 reductions of up to 14%.
Key features
- Steam production from recovered main and/or auxiliary engine waste heat
- Reduced fired boiler operation, lowering fuel and maintenance costs
- Improved vessel energy efficiency and CII rating
- Easily retrofitted; economizers after auxiliary engines often pay back in less than a year
- Configured to the vessel's steam requirement, exhaust gas volume and characteristics, for any fuel
Configurations
- Smoke-tube and water-tube economizers
- Single-inlet and dual-inlet solutions
- Compact economizers for minimal installation footprint
Waste heat to electricity
Steam from the economizers can also feed the Alfa Laval E-PowerPack, an Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) unit that generates electricity from low-temperature heat sources.
