Description
Wärtsilä Navi-Port is a digital platform that connects a ship's navigation system to the port and enables just-in-time arrivals. Real-time data sharing of arrival times allows the vessel to adjust speed automatically, reducing fuel consumption, anchorage time and emissions, while helping ports plan berth and terminal operations.
How it works
- En route, the vessel sends a Planned Time of Arrival (PTA) to the port
- If port conditions require it, the port returns a Requested Time of Arrival (RTA)
- Wärtsilä FOS on board recalculates route and speed for the RTA and relays it to the navigation system for the captain's approval
- Once approved, speed is adjusted automatically and the updated ETA is shared with the port in real time
