Wärtsilä scrubber upgrades and agreements keep exhaust gas treatment systems compliant and efficient over their lifetime, combining maintenance agreements with technical upgrades.

Upgrades
- Expert Insight for Scrubbers – fleet-wide tracking of compliance and scrubber utilisation with dashboards via the Wärtsilä Collaboration App, remote troubleshooting and machine-learning fault detection
- Eco-Controller – hardware-free upgrade enabling dynamic water flows to optimise energy consumption, with real-time power and energy data
- Water treatment system upgrade – closed-loop wash water treatment for closed-loop and hybrid scrubbers; small footprint, low power consumption and low sludge production
- Deplume upgrade – heats the exhaust vapour to reduce visible plume; typically installed at a yard in five to six days
- Alkali upgrade – hardware and software changes to switch closed-loop operation from caustic soda (NaOH) to non-hazardous magnesium hydroxide (Mg(OH)2)
