Description
HYDROX 8 EP and HYDROX EP 150 are mineral-based extreme pressure (EP) gear lubricants designed mainly for thrusters. They absorb sea or fresh water entering the unit to form a stable emulsion that keeps lubricating and protecting against corrosion, including during long standing periods and start-up.

- High anti-wear performance for heavily loaded gears, with resistance to micropitting and scuffing; passes FZG load stage 12
- Suitable where a combined gear lubricant and hydraulic function is required
- Compatible with marine seal elastomers and approved by the major seal manufacturers
- HYDROX 8 EP: 105 cSt at 40°C, VI 105; HYDROX EP 150: 150 cSt at 40°C, VI 102; pour point below -20°C
Applications
Auxiliary and main propulsion thrusters. Vickers Oils recommends monitoring water content and acting once OEM limits are exceeded.
