Oil Condition Monitoring (OCM) service

Oil analysis programme for vessels using Vickers Oils sterntube, stabiliser, thruster and hydraulic lubricants, with reports on machinery and lubricant condition.

Description

Vickers Oils' Condition Monitoring Service lets owners and managers monitor Vickers Oils lubricants in their vessels. Customers register vessels, take samples with Vickers Oils sampling kits and view results through the Interlink portal, backed by a service team that interprets results under a tailored agreement for each vessel.

Key features

  • Covers sterntube, stabiliser, thruster and hydraulic applications
  • Reports judge machinery health as well as lubricant condition, drawing on over a decade of EAL analysis data
  • Can confirm machinery is fit for further service even when HYDROX and HYDROX BIO samples hold up to 10 times more water than conventional oil would allow
  • Reports can be shared with Classification Society surveyors
  • Compliant with the ISM Code "Maintenance of the Ship and Equipment", giving evidence of preventative maintenance under Clause 10

Applications

Regular use can support applications to extend the classification survey of a ship's sterntube assembly, for example under the Lloyd's Register CM notation scheme.
