Description
The Thordon TG100 is a mechanical tailshaft seal for vessels with shafts from 86 mm (3.375 in.) to 305 mm (12 in.), operating in clean or abrasive-laden water. It has hard-wearing silicon carbide faces and bellows made from Thordon's proprietary elastomeric polymers.

- Elastomeric bellows with unlimited shelf life
- Bellows accept axial and radial shaft movement and compensate for misalignment
- Emergency seal allows stand-alone operation, so the vessel can return to port without permanent damage to the seal
- Wedge "lock" design keeps the rotary face square to the shaft
- Hydraulically balanced to suit different drafts
- Requires no periodic maintenance. A well-maintained seal should need no parts within a 5-year drydock interval
- An extra water port allows dirt and abrasives that build up in the bellows to be flushed out
- Bearings and seals can come from a single supplier
