Kort Hydraulic Tunnel Thrusters (KT30-KT300)
Kort KT30-KT300 hydraulic tunnel thrusters and small azimuthing units up to 300 hp input, 19-223 kW and 320-2,700 kg thrust, for 210 or 280 bar open or closed loop systems.
Description
Kort thrusters are hydraulically driven tunnel thrusters and small azimuthing propulsion units for up to 300 hp input power. They are designed primarily for commercial displacement vessels and have also been fitted to planing craft and inland waterway pleasure craft, with long service life and easy maintenance as design priorities.
Design
- KT30-KT170: hydraulic motor fitted in the drive housing, directly coupled to the propeller shaft running in taper roller bearings in the nose cone; pre-fitted and tested before delivery
- KT200-KT300: lower gearbox in the tunnel with the hydraulic motor plugged into the input housing inside the vessel; can also be diesel-driven via cardan shaft and right-angle gearbox, with a range of ratios
- For 210 or 280 bar system pressure, open or closed loop hydraulic systems
- Tunnels in standard lengths in mild steel, aluminium or GRP, with stainless steel ring in way of the propeller
- Designed for low installation cost and commissioning that can normally be done unsupervised
Wheelhouse control
- 24 V DC controller sealed to IP65 for wheelhouse or protected external locations
- Proportional put-and-stay joystick, duty/standby selection, monitoring of four alarms, warning lights and alarm test
- Pre-wired and tested, supplied with plugs and 2 m of cable
- Autopilot integration; single or multi-station systems available
