Taro® Ultra Advanced 40

Model MPID 219040

40 BN Category II cylinder lubricant for the latest large low-speed marine diesel engines running on low and zero sulphur fuels including VLSFO, ULSFO, LNG and methanol.

Description

Taro Ultra Advanced 40 is the newest of Chevron Marine Lubricants' cylinder oils: a high-performance 40 Base Number (BN) Category II cylinder lubricant that gives better engine protection than earlier low-BN formulations. It is recommended for the latest large low-speed marine diesel engines with exhaust after-treatment, running on low and up to zero sulphur fuels including VLSFO, ULSFO, LNG and methanol, in line with OEM guidelines.

Key features

  • Keeps pistons clean at moderate BN and ash level, with no need to switch between higher- and lower-BN oils
  • Anti-seizure protection against scuffing; prevents ring sticking
  • Corrosive wear protection
  • Less ash build-up in scavenge spaces, exhaust valves, turbochargers and SCR, EGR and DPF systems
  • Storage stable and miscible with common diesel cylinder lubricants
  • Approved by Everllence (formerly MAN ES) for Category II cylinder oils and by WinGD
