Integrated Hydraulic Outboard Propulsion Units
Integrated diesel-hydraulic outboard azimuthing thrusters on a deck-mounted full skid, 100 HP (75 kW) to 300 HP (224 kW), with 360° steering, power kick-up and optional nozzle, for barges and workboats.
Description
Thrustmaster Integrated Hydraulic Outboard Propulsion Units are self-contained diesel-hydraulic azimuthing thruster packages for main propulsion and positioning of heavy displacement hulls. The outboard stem is attached to the diesel-hydraulic power unit on a deck-mounted integral full skid, with all accessories and interconnections assembled as one modular unit. A dumb barge can be converted in a few hours without hull modification.
Key features
- 360° unlimited steering; 90° or 180° hydraulic power kick-up; optional propeller depth adjustment
- Fixed-pitch propeller driven by a bi-directional variable-speed hydraulic motor in the pod, on oil-lubricated taper roller bearings
- Proportional forward/reverse speed with the engine at constant speed
- Hydraulic overload relief protects the drive and outboard leg
- Sealed unit with convenient lubricant check, drain and fill points
- Optional nozzle increases slow-speed forward thrust by an average of 30%
