Universal NMEA to Step/Synchro Converter (Gyrocompass Repeater Control Unit)
Converts NMEA heading from a new gyrocompass into Step or Synchro signals to drive existing mechanical repeaters, avoiding replacement of repeaters, radars, autopilots and cabling.
Description
The SR03-01Mk2 receives NMEA heading data from new gyrocompass(es) and generates Synchro or Step signals with enough power to drive all existing mechanical repeaters, so there is no need to buy new repeaters, reconfigure or replace ARPA radars and autopilots, or replace old cabling. It accepts two heading sources and has a built-in, approved compass compare and switch-over function.

- SR03-03 remote control unit, allowing the SR03-01Mk2 in the gyro room to be monitored and controlled from the bridge
- SR03-04v2 distribution unit feeding Step or Synchro signals to six mechanical repeaters, each with a block of fuses (2.5A/250V AC slow-blow); units can be daisy-chained for more repeaters
- SR03-05 manual Step/Synchro switch-over unit
