VPS Inspection, Survey & Testing
Bunker Quantity Surveys (BQS)
Independent surveys confirming delivered bunker quantity and sampling, remaining-on-board fuel, sludge, on/off hire and de-bunkering; almost 200,000 performed.
Description
VPS pioneered the Bunker Quantity Survey service in 1987 and has performed almost 200,000 surveys across the world's ports. Because the fuel purchaser is usually not present when bunkers are delivered, an independent surveyor confirms that the correct quantity is delivered in line with the supply agreement and that samples are correctly obtained. Surveyors are impartial and work to the detailed VPS Code of Practice.
Key features
- Bunker delivery quantity and sampling surveys
- Remaining On Board (ROB) surveys with tank measurement and certification
- Sludge surveys
- On-off hire surveys at vessel delivery and redelivery
- De-bunker surveys when off-spec fuel is returned to the supplier
