Retrofit service replacing obsolete UMAS / AKON IAS with Høglund IACS on ABB S800 I/O, reusing existing cables, with 5-year hardware and lifetime software warranty.
Description
Retrofit of UMAS / AKON Systems is Høglund's specialised service for replacing UMAS and AKON integrated automation systems whose spare parts are obsolete.
Systems replaced
UMAS / AKON IAS typically comprise:
- Alarm system (alarms and E0)
- Tank tender (pump and valve control)
- Data sound (tank sounding purging cabinet)
- Power management system (often stand-alone)
Høglund approach
- Dedicated controllers for alarm and tank sounding, cargo control and power management (if applicable)
- New ABB S800 I/O modules replace the old hardware
- New operator stations with widescreen monitors (space permitting) in ECR and wheelhouse
- New self-calibrating purge-air data-sounding cabinet connected via standard Modbus
- Existing I/O cables reused; markings and documentation updated
- Newer AKON controllers (B&R platform) can be replaced while retaining existing B&R I/O modules
