Ship Performance Monitor (SPM)

Høglund Ship Performance Monitor (SPM) is adaptable monitoring software for managing and improving vessel and fleet efficiency. Day and mode reports are generated automatically and sent, together with live data from the vessel, to the Høglund cloud server.

Key features

• Automated reports: day reports triggered at noon or midnight (configurable); mode reports triggered by operating mode (in port, transit, operation, etc.). Reports include fuel and power consumption, speed, wind, wave, draft and trim data.
• Low installation cost: uses existing onboard sensors; fuel consumption can be calculated with up to 98% accuracy without dedicated flowmeters.
• LiveData: onboard playback mirrored to shore for status monitoring via mirrored mimics, onshore incident troubleshooting, big-data analysis and digital twin functions, and custom reports from historical data.
• Fleet Manager portal: crew can correct reported data; fuel and power consumption can be recalculated when event times are adjusted; export to predefined Excel templates.
• Data sharing: access via API, or cloud-to-cloud transfer via MQTT or vendor APIs.

Cyber security and bandwidth

• External connections pass through the Høglund cSafe firewall, designed to IEC 62443-3.
• Data is compressed before upload; LiveData bandwidth for large vessels with 10,000+ signals is approx. 25–30 kB per minute.
• Data is buffered onboard if the internet connection drops.

Compliance and integrations

• Complies with EU MRV regulation 2015/757; certified as an EU MRV IT system and compatible with Thetis MRV platform requirements.
• Approved data collector for the DNV Veracity platform; supports IMO DCS / EU MRV KPI templates.
• Reports can be presented on VPS' Maress platform.
