Barge Moving Systems
Two-winch barge moving system with VFD control and joystick operation.
Description
A typical Barge Moving System consists of two winches, a 36 x 48 inch NEMA 4 enclosed drive cabinet and an operator control console, usable indoors or outdoors.
Key features
- Variable frequency drive technology accelerates and decelerates the winches smoothly
- Manual mode for pre-tensioning
- Auto mode: one joystick moves the barge upstream or downstream, a knob adjusts speed from 0 to the maximum rated speed
- Bronze disc-type drag brake with manually adjustable caliper on each winch
- Fully electric with no hydraulic components
Applications
Typical uses are positioning barges at terminals and docks.
