Interlock Panel
Panel collecting signals from up to 16 pumps and/or valves to detect, alarm and record up to 24 illegal bypass routings of the BWTS.
Description
The Interlock Panel collects signals from external pumps and valves that could bypass the Ballast Water Treatment System. It addresses the regulatory requirement that any bypass of the treatment system must trigger an alarm and be recorded by the control equipment.
Key features
- Each panel receives signals from up to 16 pumps and/or valves
- Handles up to 24 different illegal bypass routings (states)
- Illegal routes are configured during commissioning on dedicated settings pages in the OBS Touch Panel
- Interlock logic pages help the crew identify incorrectly positioned valves, for example a direct line between overboard and ballast tanks, or gravity filling directly from the sea chest
- Can be replaced by an IAS (Integrated Automation System) solution
