HECSTAB Offshore

Regulatory stability software for non-ship-shaped offshore assets, with fixed-axis (free-to-trim) and variable-axis (free-twist) intact and damage stability and Rhino3D integration.

Description

HECSTAB Offshore is a tool for naval architects involved in the design and regulatory analysis of non-ship-shaped assets, from semi-submersibles and TLPs to SPARs and jack-ups. Users develop models to evaluate intact and damage stability. Alongside traditional fixed-axis free-to-trim calculations it performs variable heeling axis (free twist) calculations, greatly reducing the number of calculated conditions.

Key features

  • Offshore vessel modeling with Rhino3D integration
  • Intact and free-floating damage stability with fixed-axis and variable-axis evaluation
  • Hierarchical analysis interface and wizard-style analysis templates
  • Python scripting engine and script-based reporting
  • Compatibility with LMP

Supporting modules

Python Editor, Ship Project Editor, Rhino3D and Grasshopper plugins (Rhino 7 required), and Herbert-ABS Wind, which assesses wind overturning moments directly from user-defined 3D geometry with user-defined shape factors, height coefficient tables and thruster locations and force. Related programs are LMP and HECSALV Offshore.
