ABC 16VDZ dual-fuel genset: medium-speed 16-cylinder V-engine running on natural gas (CNG or LNG) with diesel pilot ignition, or on diesel at any time; low-pressure gas supply up to about 500 mbar.
Description
The ABC 16VDZ genset is the dual-fuel version of Anglo Belgian Corporation's medium-speed 16-cylinder V-engine, combined with an alternator. It runs on natural gas (CNG or LNG) with a small diesel pilot injection for ignition, and can switch to diesel at any time, ensuring continuity if gas is unavailable. Performance and response time are similar to a standard diesel engine.

Low-pressure gas system
- Gas supply at very low pressure, up to about 500 mbar, avoiding gas compressors in some systems
- Gas line between gas valve unit and engine at or slightly below atmospheric pressure, so a leak draws air into the pipe rather than releasing gas
- Gas mixed with air in the gas mixer and turbocharger for optimal combustion
- No common rail: pilot fuel injected by direct mechanical pump-line-nozzle (PLN) system
