Ships, History, Influence, and Power Series
Film, podcast and oral history series on steamships and their role in immigration, trade and leisure, with accompanying lesson plans.
Description
The Ships, History, Influence, and Power series uses exclusive oral histories and primary resources from SSHSA's archives to focus on the vessels, crew and passengers that changed travel, trade and immigration. Organised into Immigration, Trade and Leisure themes, it offers films, podcasts (Ship History Radio), primary sources and accompanying lessons. The program is funded by Ted Scull, who also helps source interviews, research and visual materials, and the society invites the public to record their own steamship oral histories.
