MaK Retrofit / Upgrade / Repower
Cylinder Bypass Valve (CBV) Retrofit
Retrofit with electropneumatic actuator enabling variable-speed operation for lower fuel consumption and better CII rating.
Description
The CBV retrofit is configured for constant pressure charging and for part-load and slow-steaming profiles, using an electropneumatic actuator for precise control. Engine speed is reduced by a defined percentage, or the engine runs in an extended combinator mode, which lowers the required power while maintaining vessel speed.
Key features
- Electropneumatic actuator for precise control
- Up to 20% reduction in fuel consumption, as stated on the site
- Improved IMO Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) rating
- Suited to part-load and slow-steaming profiles
Applications
Vessels with constant pressure charging that operate at part load or slow steaming.
