TECO-Westinghouse Equipment
Marine Propulsion Motors and Generators
Induction, synchronous and DC propulsion motors and generators, class-approved and designed to fit confined spaces.
Description
TECO-Westinghouse states it has supplied electric propulsion for marine applications since the early 1910s. Its propulsion motors and generators are designed to fit in confined spaces, and for propulsion motors the main thrust bearing can be integral with the motor bearing.
The designs meet the major classification societies, including ABS, DNV and Lloyd's, and ICES CCR 209 for research vessel propulsion can also be met.
Key features
- Induction propulsion motors and generators, 500 hp to 30,000 hp, adjustable frequency
- Synchronous propulsion motors and diesel generators, 500 hp to 60,000 hp, adjustable frequency
- DC propulsion motors and diesel generators, 100 hp to 35,000 hp
- Main thrust bearing can be integral with the motor bearing
Applications
- Electric propulsion on modern vessels, including research vessels
