REINTJES WVSA 240–1540 Gearbox

The REINTJES WVSA 240–1540 is a series of down-angle reverse-reduction gearboxes for fast vessels, covering 500–4,900 kW. Beveloid gears angle the output shaft 8–10° downward, lowering the power train and reducing engine-room height, while keeping the high power-to-weight ratio and quiet running of the WVS series. Standard design

• Aluminium alloy housing, rigid mounting
• Helically toothed, case-hardened beveloid gears
• Built-in hydraulic disc clutches (steel/sinter) with adapted pressure increase during shifting
• Full power and equal reduction in identical and counter rotation
• Integrated oil sump with common operating and lube oil circuit; externally accessible oil pump and filter
• Built-on seawater-resistant heat exchanger, max. cooling water inlet 38 °C (100 °F)
• Electrically operated control valve; pressure gauge and remote pressure/temperature connection
• Input: free shaft with 1:30 taper; output: forged-on flange
