About
Ports America's lineage goes back to 1922, when International Terminal Operating Company (ITO) founded P&O Ports North America. Marine Terminals Corporation (MTC) followed in 1931, and the two combined in 2007 under the Ports America brand.
The company has created three public-private partnerships, in Baltimore (Ports America Chesapeake), Newark (PNCT) and Tampa (Port Tampa Bay). Six of its terminals have become Green Marine certified.
