ORIX's Ship Finance business offers a sustainability linked loan tied to the annual CO2 emissions of the financed ship. After the loan is disbursed, if the ship's annual CO2 emissions are below the standard value, a preferential interest rate is applied for the following year. To ensure objectivity and fairness, the emissions are calculated by Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (ClassNK). ORIX presents the loan as a financial contribution to decarbonizing the shipping industry.
