Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
FEA services from hull girder strength to local structure and equipment foundation engineering.
Description
Finite element analysis is used to design complex geometry and make full use of construction materials. Hockema Group applies it from global hull strength down to individual deck fittings and equipment foundations.
Key features
- Hull girder longitudinal strength assessment with torsional loading
- Local structural arrangement verification
- Load ratings for deck fittings such as bollards, cleats, towing pads and mooring bitts
- Major equipment foundation analysis, including main engine beds, winch foundations and crane pedestals
- Corrosion wastage scantling prediction, heat transfer and expansion simulation, and structural-borne vibration analysis
- Simplified grillage models for deck scantlings, masts and lifting appliance foundations
