Acoustic Intercept & Ranging (AI&R)
Real-time acoustic processing integrated into the sonar systems of every U.S. Navy submarine to autonomously detect underwater acoustic emissions.
Description
Acoustic Intercept & Ranging (AI&R) is an advanced real-time processing solution integrated into the sonar systems of every U.S. Navy submarine in the fleet. It is designed to autonomously detect underwater acoustic emissions. Progeny Systems has provided submarine sonar capabilities for U.S. Navy submarines since 2002.
Key features
- Acoustic data collected from multiple hydrophones mounted on or towed behind submarines or surface ships
- Inboard processing with AI&R hardware and signal processing algorithms
- Display-ready data and alerts delivered to sonar operators on workstations running the AI&R user interface
Applications
Autonomous detection of underwater acoustic emissions aboard U.S. Navy submarines.
